I'm Lindsay. I'm a mama to three wonderful kids, a dog named Tilly, and I genuinely love all things health and fitness. I am NOT perfect, however. I don't have perfect boobs (please see aforementioned reference to three tiny humans). I am not a size 2. I love running and lifting heavy weights and interval training and Pilates, but I also really like food, so I balance the two because that's what works for me. I have a BA from Ohio University (go Bobcats!) and my Masters from The Ohio State University (go Buckeyes!). Additionally, I'm a certified Weight Management Specialist, a certified Nutrition Coach, and I've been a personal trainer and group fitness instructor for over 20 years.
One thing you'll never ever hear me talk about it how to get skinny. I don't want you to work with me so you can meet the impossible beauty standards that women carry on their shoulders. Why? Because for me, feeling strong, clear-headed and happy is so much more important than the number on a scale. Too often, people focus on the outside instead of the inside. "Perfect health" doesn't equate to a teeny-tiny woman who can fit into anything. That's not why I do this. To me, "perfect health" means feeling happy, surrounding myself with people I love, eating foods that give me energy, allowing myself to have treats, and being physically active for the sake of being healthy and less anxious. As I mentioned, I have three kids, and I never want them to see a mommy who is always on some kind of diet, or who exercises just to stay thin. Nope. I want them to see a mommy who is optimistic, happy, healthy, confident in her body, and can move a piece of furniture or lift heavy things without asking for help.
Why "10 More Seconds?" Because you really CAN do anything for 10 more seconds. It's fun to push yourself and prove to that little voice inside your head that you really ARE a bad-ass and that you CAN do all the hard things. Who knows? Those little 10 seconds might empower you to do something good for yourself for another 10 minutes. That 10 minutes could turn into 10 days of consecutive healthy decisions. Maybe those days turn into 10 MONTHS of good choices, or even 10 years of just feeling stronger and healthier and better. You never know until you start with the 10 seconds you have right in front of you.
